manifest destiny
So what am I supposed to do?
I only know one place where I have to be
And it's gotta be with you
I'm on my way now
So you gotta help me out
You gotta make it out for me
How could we survive?
Yeah I'll think about the kids
Just let your speed arrive
Yeah don't worry about the rest
There is a fire that burns on my tongue
So what can I ever do?
I see them at you feeling your loss
And I wanna feel it too
I will find you and roll out the fire
So you gotta help me out
You gotta make it out for me
How could we survive?
Yeah just think about the kids
Just let your speed arrive
Yeah don't worry about the rest

Dim Locator
i don´t Fink so!
let´s locate here!
copyright: Martina Buchelová

DIM LOCATOR (UK/AUS/Berlin)
Dim Locator vznikli z popola legendárnych Fatal Shore, pôsobiacich práve v Berlíne. Po smrti Bruna Adamsa Fatal Shore rozpustili a zostávajúci členovia, Angličan Phil Shoenfelt a Austrálčan Chris Hughes, prizvali k spolupráci Davea Allena. Spoločne založili skupinu s ambíciou nájsť nový zvuk a vytvoriť nový hudobný repertoár. V auguste tohto roku im vyšlo EP Immortalised.
Phil Shoenfelt s hudbou začínal koncom 60. rokov. Žil v Manchesteri v čase, keď tam hrali Joy Division a fungoval klub Hacienda. V roku 1979 odišiel do New Yorku, kde sa mu domovom stali miesta ako St. Mark's Place, East Village, CBGBs a Chelsea Hotel. Pod vplyvom Joy Division, PIL, Gang of Four a newyorskej noiseovej scény v roku 1981 založil skupinu Khmer Rouge (spoločne s ex-klávesistkou The Fall), ich manažérom sa stal Nat Finkelstein (ten, ktorý fotil v 60. rokoch vo Factory u Andyho Warhola) a producentmi John Leckie a Thurston Moore.
S Khmer Rouge neskôr robil predkapelu The Clash na ich americkom turné a o ďalších niekoľko rokov, tentokrát už sám, predskakoval Nickovi Caveovi and the Bad Seeds. Začiatkom deväťdesiatych rokov odišiel do Čiech, kde hrával s Tichou Dohodou. Práve s jej členmi založil v Prahe skupinu Phil Shoenfelt & Southern Cross, ktorú neskôr ešte doplnil Pavel Cingl. Vydali štyri albumy a recenziu z časopisu Fullmoon na zatiaľ posledný album Paranoia.com si môžete prečítať tu: http://www.philshoenfelt.c
V roku 1996 vznikli v Berlíne Fatal Shore. Spoločne hrali až do roku 2009 a za ten čas stihli vydať tri albumy. Medzi ďalšími spolupracovníkmi boli aj Mark E. Smith (The Fall), Nikki Sudden, Simon Bonney či producent Tony Cohen (The Birthday Party, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds). Bubeník Chris Hughes hrával s Rowlandom S. Howardom (The Birthday Party), Ninou Hagen, Once Upon A Time, zahral si aj s Alexom Hacke (Einsturzende Neubauten). Spoločne s basgitaristom Daveom Allenom hrali dlhé roky s Hugom Raceom (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds).
Shoenfelt je tiež autorom autobiografického románu Junkie Love (v češtine vyšiel pod názvom "Feťácká láska").

NICKEL IN THE SINK (SK)
Ako predkapela sa predstaví mladá bratislavská kapela Nickel In The Sink. Jej traja členovia Peter (gitara/spev), Ľuboš (bicie) a Filip (gitara/vokály) hrajú špinavý garážový rock'n'roll. Inšpirovaní koreňmi blues a (viac-menej) súčasnou hudbou The White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, The Kills alebo The Strokes, začali aktívne tvoriť vlastné skladby. V Dunaji odohrajú svoj úplne prvý verejný koncert, to si nenechajte ujsť.

BIO // Hoci sa vo vydavateľstve snažíme veci robiť čo najviac do it yourself, dosiaľ sme ešte ani raz nevydávali niečo, čo vzniklo úplne kompletne v rukách našich ľudí.
Obete sekty by Obete sekty is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License.

(don't) feel good INC. / ephemeral style

gorillaz - feel good inc.
the video just perfectly fits the song. and...as only a while ago i hadn't remeber the video quite well, the feeling of the song has been present all those years. and now seeing this video again and actually watching it and finally reading the lyrics i found out that it perfectly makes sense and that it actually absolutely fits my feeling and thoughts of the song.
the chorus 'windmill windmill for the land...' - creates this fantasy world - ideal world image - or just that 'feel good' for a person. the place i've been looking for and still am. the place i had somewhere in my head from the childhood. some land where i could escape.
and now as i look back on it and thinking back on the time when i first heard this song, the memories are slightly flashing back.....like how i'd dream of this place.. on an island in the air...alone...in the sun... out of the real world.
and thinking about the lyrics, sounds, music and the whole composition of the song, it just completely makes sense. the music perfectly reflects all the feelings, the messages and thoughts of the author. the cranky and deformed out-of-tune guitar echoeing after the main riff that is heard just when you listen carefully symbolise the deformed values, wishes and needs, then the beat in the verses with the bass perfectly correspondends with the every day routine, that always continues after every other little moment of dreaming, sleeping or any other form of escaping from the reality and takes you right back into the 'cruel' and gloomy life. the style of the singing, the whispering in the back and the rapping pushes the whole idea of the song even further. and then there's of course the already mentioned dreamy atmosphere of the chorus. last but not least....just listen to the lyrics...even when you don't understand, the 'ha ha ha haa' at the very beginning of the song and also at the very end of the song says it all. and sums it up. quite a sad song it is...

so let's search for our own personal 'feel good inc.' search & destroy. false ideals.
feel good
city's breaking down on a camel's back.
they just have to go 'cause they don't know wack
so all you fill the streets it's appealing to see
you wont get out the county, 'cos you're bad and free
you've got a new horizon, it's ephemeral style.
a melancholy town where we never smile.
and all I wanna hear is the message beep.
my dreams, they've got to kiss, because i don't get sleep, no..
windmill, Windmill for the land.
turn forever hand in hand
take it all there on your stride
it is tinking, falling down
love forever love is free
let's turn forever you and me
windmill, windmill for the land
is everybody in?
laughing gas these hazmats, fast cats,
lining them up-a like ass cracks,
lay these ponies at the track
it's my chocolate attack.
shit, i'm stepping in the heart of this here
care bear bumping in the heart of this here
watch me as i gravitate
Hahahahahahaa.
yo, we gonna go ghost town,
this motown,
with yo sound
you're in the place
you gonna bite the dust
can't fight with us
with yo sound
you kill the INC.
so don't stop, get it, get it
until you're Jet Ahead.
yo, watch the way i navigate
Hahahahahhaa
feel good, AHHHHahahahah
don't stop, get it, get it
we are your captains in it
steady,
watch me navigate,
Ahahahahahhaa.
don't stop, get it, get it
we are your captains in it
steady, watch me navigate
Ahahahahahhaa.
feel good, AHHHHahahahaha
feel good
GORILLAZ SPEAK OUT ABOUT NEW VIDEO
The brand new video for 'Feel Good Inc' is here now for you to see. The band have been very busy making it - 2D and Murdoc speak out for the first time about excess and hedonism, exactly what the video's about and what really happened on the shoot...
2D: I think Gorillaz built a tower around themselves that they couldn't get out of. Of excess and hedonism. The video is based on this feeling. For a while it was great to be on the inside, but the party's got out of hand. It' s become like the Last days of Pompeii….a…er…Sodding Gommorah. The Feelgood Inc Tower represents this. The palace we built has become a prison. In the video I'm just waking up from this year-long hedonists dream, and I realise that maybe… the fruits of success have turned sour.
Noodle is outside of the Tower, in the pale morning-after light, sitting on the edge of this floating island. And you can see she knows what's happening. But people have to wake up to it themselves. So that's what the video is about; being trapped by the things you make, and realising everyone else is caught up in it. Using it. Just…they need their party to continue, to keep this thing afloat. The Tower of Babel.
Murdoc: Apart from the obvious thing, which is my gyrating hips, the coolest thing about the video would be the the hydraulics on this gig. Just for the windmill section alone cost about 3.5 million pounds. That's sterling. We had to buy a small island, make a mold of it and then scrape out all the insides. When that was done we filled the whole thing full of helium. Using the motor from the windmill we managed to get the thing to float, but it was an absolute bugger.
